The Rabbit R1, a new $200 device, showcased at CES 2024, aims to simplify smartphone app usage by performing in-app actions on behalf of users, such as ordering food or cabs.

The device features a 2.88-inch touchscreen housed in a handheld console-like body, powered by a 2.3GHz MediaTek processor, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a rotating camera for optics.

Activated by the "Push-to-Talk" button, the Rabbit OS, based on the Large Action Model (LAM), understands human intentions on computers, making it capable of executing tasks through voice prompts.

The Rabbit R1 supports various categories of apps, including music, ride-sharing, food, map research, shopping, travel, and generative AI apps, providing a range of functionalities beyond traditional smartphone capabilities.

Unlike the Humane AI pin, a similar concept released last year, the Rabbit R1 does not require a subscription, is more affordable, and offers a more familiar form factor, contributing to the goal of transitioning away from traditional smartphone interfaces.
