1. Hardik Pandya: After a successful stint as the skipper of Gujarat Titans, Pandya has become a completely different player. He is calm, composed, matured and is the frontrunner to lead India after Rohit Sharma

2. Rishabh Pant: The DC captain is looked by many within the BCCI and the team as a future leader. He has cemented his place in the Test side, and if he can do the same in India's limited-overs set-up, Pant can be a great choice as the next Indian captain

3. Jasprit Bumrah: India's pace spearhead was appointed as the captain of the Test side for the fifth and final Test vs England. His appointment as the leader for a match as important as the one against England shows the kind of faith the management has in Bumrah's abilities as a leader

4. KL Rahul: The current vice-captain of Indian T20 side is the top-choice for captaincy right now. He has demonstrated his leadership skills in the IPL, but hasn't really had a great time as captain of the national side

5. Shubman Gill: The 23-years-old is often touted as the next big thing in Indian cricket, and maybe and outside choice to take over the captaincy duties. He is the youngest of the lot, and is primed to play all 3 formats for India
