Rohit Sharma lost his third Test match at home as a captain as India suffered a first defeat against New Zealand at home in 36 years. Dhoni and Kohli lost only one Test each in their first 14 matches as captain at home. Kohli went on to lose only one in next 17 matches as captain and Dhoni two.
