Players to be dismissed in nervous 90s in T20 World Cup, Nicholas Pooran falls for 98 vs Afghanistan

Nicholas Pooran became only the fourth batter in T20 World Cup history to be dismissed in nervous 90s as he missed a well-deserved T20I century against Afghanistan after being run out on 98. Take a look at the full list-

This was only the 11th instance of a batter scoring between 90 and 99 in T20 World Cup and only the fourth batter being dismissed in that range. Chris Gayle was the first batter to get out in the 90s in the T20 World Cup

Gayle was run out on 98 during the West Indies vs India game in the 2010 edition as like Pooran, he too missed his century by a couple of runs

Umar Akmal, four years later became the second batter to be dismissed in the 90s, during the Pakistan vs Australia match

Akmal was dismissed on 94 by Mitchell Starc after playing a gem of an innings off just 54 balls

Martin Guptill, 7 years later, became the third name on the list of the batters to be dismissed in his 90s in the T20 World Cup

Martin Guptill got out on 93 against Scotland in the 2021 edition
