Namibia won a Super Over thriller against Oman in the third match of the T20 World Cup 2024 in Barbados. This was only the third instance of a Super Over decider in the T20 World Cup and a fourth tied game in the tournament history

David Wiese was the star of the show for Namibia to get them two points as he hit a six and a four in the super over and then defended 21 runs with the ball as Oman could only muster 10 as the African nation got two points in their opening game of T20 World Cup 2024

The first-ever Super Over took place in the 2012 edition of the T20 World Cup when Sri Lanka and New Zealand were tied on a score of 174 in the group game in Pallekele

Sri Lanka scored 13 runs in the one-over eliminator before Lasith Malinga denied New Zealand any opportunity to comeback into the game as the Black Caps could only muster 7 runs

New Zealand were on the wrong end of the result of a Super Over clash yet again. On a slow wicket in Pallekele, New Zealand and West Indies were tied on score of 139 before the match went into Super Over

New Zealand did well to get to 17 runs in their Super Over owing to Ross Taylor hitting a six and a four but West Indies chased those down. Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels hit a six each on the first and the last ball of the over respectively and Tim Southee bowled a no-ball as well

The first-ever tied match in the T20 World Cup took place in the inaugural edition between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan. Both teams scored 141 runs in their requisite 20 overs before the match went into a bowl-out

Super Over wasn't a concept till then and that was the only match to feature a bowl out in T20 World Cup. Indian team hit the stumps on all three occasions and Pakistan failed to hit even once and the Men in Blue won 3-0
