List of players injured ahead of World Cup 2023, 2 Indians in list

Australia batter Steve Smith injured a tendon in his wrist and missed the South Africa ODI series. He is likely to be fit for India ODIs before World Cup.

Shreyas Iyer has missed a couple of matches already in the Asia Cup due to back spasm.

Jason Roy has missed 3 matches against New Zealand due to back injury. He is in danger of missing out from World Cup squad as well.

Australia captain Pat Cummins has fractured his hand. But he is expected to get fit before the World Cup.

South Africa pacer Anrich Nortje has also sustained a back injury. He didn't play the third ODI against Australia.

Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell suffered an ankle injury just before start of South Africa series. He is in race against time to get fit for the World Cup.

Kane Williamson is still recovering from ACL injury sustained during IPL 2023. He is part of World Cup squad for New Zealand and is expected to be fit during the tournament.

Mitchell Starc has also missed the South Africa tour due to a groin injury.

Wanindu Hasaranga picked up a thigh strain during Lanka Premier League (LPL) and missed Asia Cup. He is also expected to get fit for the World Cup.

Dushmantha Chameera sustained a shoulder injury and missed the Asia Cup. It remains to be seen if he gets fit for the mega event in India.

Tamim Iqbal's recurring back injury led to him stepping down as Bangladesh captain along with missing the Asia Cup as well. He is also racing against time to get fit for the World Cup.
