England with a 3-0 win over the West Indies have begun their attempt to make it to the World Test Championship final. However, the road isn't easy as England can't afford to drop a single Test in the rest of the cycle. England are scheduled to host Sri Lanka and play Pakistan and New Zealand away in a total of 9 Tests. Let's take a look at the possibilities for the other eight teams for WTC final qualification-

Australia with a PCT of 62.5 are comfortably placed in the second place on the WTC points table. Australia have to play five Tests against India at home and two away against Sri Lanka. Even if they win four out of their seven remaining Tests, Australia should have their PCT in 60s to get to the final

India are currently at the top of the table on the WTC points table with a PCT of 68.52. With 10 Tests remaining (2 against Bangladesh, 3 against New Zealand and 5 against Australia), even if India win five of them, they will be around that 58 mark. A sixth win will take that PCT to 64, which means if India's home record remains spotless (5-0) before the BGT, India are likely to qualify for their third straight WTC final

South Africa, given the schedule, have the best chance of challenging India and Australia for a spot in the final. The Proteas are scheduled to play West Indies and Bangladesh away and Sri Lanka and Pakistan home. Out of the remaining eight Tests, South Africa have to win seven out of them, which will take their PCT to around 66, which should be enough for them to qualify

New Zealand have made things a bit tough for themselves with a 2-0 defeat against Australia in Feb-March. Now they have to win six out of their eight remaining games. New Zealand are scheduled to play against Sri Lanka and India away and England at home in a three-match series.

Sri Lanka are in a bit of a similar boat as to New Zealand, needing to win six out of their nine matches to challenge Australia and India. However, Sri Lanka have two tough away tours remaining in England and South Africa while facing New Zealand and Australia at home

The 3-0 loss to Australia really dented Pakistan's chances given they had started the current WTC cycle on a good note. Now, out of their nine remaining matches, Pakistan have to win seven of them to see their PCT go up to 63 from 36.66. Pakistan are scheduled to play South Africa away while Bangladesh, England and West Indies at home

Bangladesh too are in a similar spot like South Africa, needing to win seven of their remaining eight Test matches but their situation is nowhere close to the Proteas. Bangladesh have to play Pakistan and India away alongside the West Indies while facing South Africa. Even if they lose two matches, they will be knocked out of the race

West Indies unfortunately have been all but knocked out of the race for WTC final. Even if West Indies win all of their remaining six Tests, their PCT can only reach 56, which might not be enough for them to get through to the final as 3-0 loss to England has potentially ended their chances
