England's potential spotless home Test summer was ruined by Sri Lanka as the hosts won five out of their six matches. Even if England win all of their remaining Test matches, their PCT will only get to 57.95, which might not be enough. England needed to win every single Test match at the start of their summer. They are still not out of it, but they will have to hope that either India or Australia start losing now...

Sri Lanka despite the 1-2 series loss to England are still very much in the hunt for the WTC final and probably have given themselves a bit of room by winning the Oval Test. If Sri Lanka win five out of the remainder of their six Tests including two each against New Zealand and Australia at home, the Islands will have a 61.5 PCT which should be enough for them to make it to the WTC final

Australia with a PCT of 62.5 are comfortably placed in the second place on the WTC points table. Australia have to play five Tests against India at home and two away against Sri Lanka. Even if they win four out of their seven remaining Tests, Australia should have their PCT in 60s to get to the final

India are currently at the top of the table on the WTC points table with a PCT of 68.52. India have a huge Test season coming up with 10 Tests to be played (2 against Bangladesh, 3 against New Zealand and 5 against Australia). Even if India win five of them, they will reach that 58 mark. A sixth win will take that PCT to 64, which means if India's home record remains spotless (5-0) before the BGT, India are likely to qualify for their third straight WTC final

South Africa, given the schedule, have the best chance of challenging India and Australia for a spot in the final. The Proteas are scheduled to play Bangladesh away and Sri Lanka and Pakistan home. Out of the remaining six Tests, South Africa have to win five out of them even after a draw against the West Indies. 5 out of 6 wins will take their PCT to around 61, which should be enough for them to qualify

West Indies after the 3-0 series loss to England and 1-0 defeat to South Africa have been knocked out of the World Test Championship final race. Even if they win their remaining four Tests, their PCT will only reach 43.58 which won't be enough for them to make it to the WTC final

Pakistan with a 2-0 series defeat to Bangladesh have shot themselves on foot. Pakistan have two tough assignments remaining, one against England at home and the other against South Africa away. They are in a similar position as England. Even if they win all their remaining 7 games their PCT will only get to 59.5 and hence they will have to hope for multiple defeats for either India or Australia or both

Bangladesh have a tough tour of India coming up but with a 2-0 win against Pakistan, they have done their chances no harm. Despite losing three points to penalty for slow over-rate, Bangladesh still can afford a loss and five wins in six Tests should be enough for them to get through. But, Bangladesh have India, South Africa and West Indies waiting

New Zealand made things a bit tough for themselves with a 2-0 defeat against Australia in Feb-March and with five Tests in Asia including three against India, the road will not be easy for them. They have to win six out of their eight remaining games which include three against England at home
