Legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni is celebrating his 43rd birthday on Sunday, July 7 2024. On his birthday as a tribute, let's take a look at his world records as captain in international cricket as well as IPL and a few more feats that he has achieved and no one is even close to the same.-

Most matches as captain in international cricket - Dhoni has played the most international matches as captain (332). Under him, India won 179 matches and lost 120 across ODIs, Tests and T20Is

Only captain to win all three ICC white-ball trophies - Dhoni as a captain won the T20 World Cup in 2007, ODI World Cup in 2011 and the Champions Trophy in 2013

Most stumpings in international cricket - It may not be related to Dhoni's captaincy but has something to do on the field. Dhoni has 829 dismissals to his name as a wicketkeeper, the third most in international cricket. However, out of those 829 dismissals, 195 are stumpings which is the most as the nearest to him is Kumar Sangakkara with 139 stumpings

In Tests, Dhoni didn't last long but still led India in as many as 60 matches in the format. Despite not playing the format for a long time, Dhoni has more wins (27) than the likes of Alastair Cook, Misbah-ul Haq, Michael Vaughan, Andrew Strauss and Mark Taylor among others as a Test captain

Most matches as captain in IPL - most wins, most defeats - In IPL, the captaincy record goes to a different level. Dhoni has captained in 226 matches in the IPL, the most, has 133 wins under his name, the most and the most losses as well, 91.
