5 Rules that are implemented in IPL but not in T20Is

1. From the upcoming season, two bouncers per over will be allowed in IPL. In T20Is, a bowler is allowed to bowl only one bouncer in an over.

2. Impact player rule was introduced in IPL 2023 and will continue to be used this season as well. In this rule, teams are allowed to use the 12th player at any moment in the match by substituting him with the other player.

3. In IPL, teams can take DRS for no-ball and wide-ball calls from umpires. This rule is yet to be introduced in international cricket.

4. Strategic timeout - Two breaks of 2 mins 30 seconds each can be taken in IPL during the 20-over innings.

First time out is for fielding side that can be taken from over 6 to 9 and second time out is for the batting team from over 13 to 16.

5. IPL has introduced smart replay technology this season which will rule out broadcaster's role. The third umpire will be in touch directly with hawk-eye operators to get the desired frames while making close decsions.

ICC has decided to implement stop clock rule from T20 World Cup 2024. In this, teams are expected to start a new over within 60 seconds after previous over ends.

After two warnings, fielding team will be penalised five runs for each subsequent breach. This rule is yet to be introduced in IPL.
