The spacecraft is being prepared in Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan for a launch towards the International Space Station (ISS) in September.
The flight is part of a cross-flight agreement between Russia's Roscosmos and NASA in the United States.
3 Russian cosmonauts were scheduled to fly on US' Crew Dragon spacecraft and 3 other US astronauts on Russia's Soyuz during 2022-2024.
Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko, Nikolai Chub and NASA's Loral O'Hara comprise the new ISS crew
The latest operation will also bring back three crew members stuck at the ISS due to leaks in the Soyuz MS-22 capsule
The US and Russia have maintained cooperation in space despite relations reaching their lowest point over the Ukraine war
Russia had earlier said that it would quit the ISS and launch its own independent space station
The event marks a rare sight of US-Russia bilateral cooperation despite current hostilities over Ukraine
The ISS has been operated under a US-Russian partnership also involving Canada, Japan and 11 European nations.
