5.4 magnitude quake hits J-K's Doda, tremors felt in parts of north India

A 5.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Doda in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday afternoon damaged some buildings and sent panicked residents of the union territory fleeing their homes.

The tremors were felt in neighboring Pakistan as well as in Delhi and other parts of north India.

The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said the 5.4 size tremor struck the locale at 1:33 pm. Doda was the epicentre of it.

A few buildings in the Bhaderwah town of Doda developed cracks as a result of the tremors.
