The 2023 Global Peace Index released its yearly report of the most peaceful countries in the world.
The 17th edition of the report has ranked over 160 countries and territories which comprise nearly 99.7 percent of the world's population.
Iceland continues to remain the most peaceful nation while Afghanistan is at the bottom in terms of peacefulness.
Denmark ranked second on the list, while Yemen has been ranked 162nd.
Ireland, another European country, has been ranked third. Syria on the other hand is at number 161.
New Zealand, another island nation, is number 4 on the list of peaceful nations while Africa's South Sudan is ranked at 160.
Austria is at the fifth spot on the list. Democratic Republic of the Congo is ranked 159th.
World's sixth and Asia's most peaceful country is Singapore. While Vladimir Putin-led Russia is at the 158th spot.
In 7th position is Portugal while the war-torn country Ukraine is at the 157th spot.
Slovenia is at the number 8th spot while Somalia after gaining two spots this year is on 156th.
The land of the rising sun, Japan, is number 9 on the list while Sudan continues to be in the 155th spot this year as well.
Switzerland is at the 10th spot in the list of the world's most peaceful countries while from the bottom it is Iraq.
Meanwhile, India has gained two spots from last year and is at number 126 on the list.
