Some add apricot kernel to almonds, which look real, but their size and colour are lighter. Therefore, you can easily identify adulterated almonds by looking at them.

To identify an almond, rub it in your palm after purchasing it for 5 to 10 minutes. If the colour starts fading, then it proves adulteration has been done.

As the almond dries, its colour keeps getting darker. Therefore, light-coloured polishing is done to make it look fresh. For this, take some almonds and rub them in the middle of the palm. If the almond has been polished, it will leave colour on the palm.

To identify the almonds, press them on a paper. If the natural oil is present in almonds, it will leave a mark on the paper. Leaving traces of oil means the almonds are real.
