From assistant director to Bollywood star, Bhumi Pednekar's film journey | Birthday Special

Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar worked with YRF as an assistant director before setting on a journey to become a famous name.

Director Sharat Katariya made Bhumi do multiple auditions before confirming her role as Sandhya in the film 'Dum Laga Ke Haisha'.

For her debut film, Bhumi gained extra 20 kgs and at the time of shooting, she was 90 kgs. After which the actress followed a strict diet for five months to get back in shape.

Bhumi once said that she had watched her debut film 45 times and followed this with her other releases too, seeing them multiple times.

She used her first paycheck to pay sister Samiksha's fees at Jindal Global Law School.

You will be shocked to know that Bhumi has watched Kamaal R Khan's film, Deshdrohi almost 100 times.

Bhumi is super passionate about makeup. The actress once revealed that she started to use makeup at the age of 13.
