Which planet is believed to be made entirely of diamonds?

Scientists have discovered a planet thought to be almost entirely composed of diamonds.

It is around 40 light-years from Earth in the constellation of Cancer.

Upto 3,900 degrees Fahrenheit (2,150 degrees Celsius) can be felt on its surface, which is extremely hot.

The planet is known as '55 Cancri e' and was discovered in 2004.

According to scientists, the majority of the planet's composition is carbon, which has been compressed to form diamond.

It's believed that the planet was initially formed from a blend of rock and metal, much like Earth.

Due of the intense heat and pressure it encountered from being so near to its star, the carbon crystallized to create diamond.

The planet is probably considerably less attractive than we could imagine, despite the temptation to see 55 Cancri e as a huge diamond in the sky.
