IIT Kanpur Scholarships: A look at various options for UG & PG students

IIT Kanpur offers a variety of scholarships to support deserving undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: This scholarship pays full tuition fee, offers monthly stipend (Rs 1,000) for the entire program. It’s open to students with parental income below Rs 4,50,000 except SC/ST. One can apply with an income certificate. Maintain a minimum CPI of 6.5

INSPIRE Scholarship: Students of BS programme with AIR 10,000 as per common merit list, in Chemistry, Physics or Math can get Rs 60,000 per year and a research grant of Rs 20,000. Maintain minimum CPI of 6.0

Donor Scholarship: Students having CPI greater than or equal to 6.0 and family income below Rs 6 lakhs (may be relaxed) annually can apply

Free Basic Mess Scholarship: This scholarship is for SC/ST students with parental income below Rs 4,50,000. It covers the basic mess bill and provides a pocket allowance

External Scholarship: The institute helps students apply for scholarships beyond what they offer. Govt has created a National Scholarship Portal for students which consists of detailed information about different GOI scholarships students can apply for outside their institutes

Sports Scholarship: Students who show leadership and excellence in sports activities within the campus are given a maximum of 20 scholarships of Rs 1,000 per year for 9 months
