    Death of more than 100 children in JK Lon Hospital situated in Kota city of Rajasthan has brought the issue of infant mortality rate into the news. Showing his concern over infants' deaths, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has given "strict instructions" to all the officials to ensure every possible treatment to the infants. The state government said it is making all possible efforts to provide better medical facilities. The Chief Minister also said that there has been a decline in the death rate of children in recent years.If we look into the data of infant mortality in J.K. Lon Hospital, in year 2016 this figure was 1193, in 2017 it was 1027 children, in year 2018 it was 1005. In 2019, this figure has gone down to 963. Efforts are being made to reduce it further through better health facilities.

Since July 2018, the Prisons Department which comes under the Delhi government did not wake up until Nirbhaya's mother started appealing publicly. What is the reason for keeping Nirbhaya and her mother away from justice? What is the reason for AAP government's lawyer stating in court that the hanging of Nirbhaya's convicts will be delayed?" said Union Women andChild Development Minister Smriti Irani.
