Polling for bypolls in 28 Assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh began on Tuesday morning amid tight security. The bypolls in the central Indian state is crucial for the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government's stability as the Congress is hoping to return to power.

The campaigning for the first phase of Bihar Assembly Elections is set to end by today evening. The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), comprising, among others, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal(United), is up against the opposition 'Mahagathbandhan,' comprising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress and Left parties.
