Congress general secretary Digivijay Singh has said that Rahul Gandhi will become the prime minister, "when the time comes". Replying to a volley of questions from Rajat Sharma in the India TV show Aap Ki Adalat, Singh revealed that it was he who opposed Rahul Gandhi's projection as chief ministerial candidate for Uttar Pradesh. "Maine nischit taur par mana kiya tha (I definitely opposed). Rahul Gandhi does not belong to a state, and it would have been wrong to limit him to a particular state. He belongs to the whole country", said Singh.
