Former Pakistan captain Imran Khan, who is set to become the country's 19th Prime Minister, said on IndiaTV's 'Aap Ki Adalat' show in 2004 that he never played cricket for money. Khan explained how he made a comeback from retirement in 1992 and led the team to the World Cup victory.
When asked about strengthening India-bilateral ties and solving the Kashmir issue, Imran Khan said that both the sides are ready for negotiations as they are tired of conflict. "Instead of pushing it under the carpet, the issue has to be solved diplomatically", Imran Khan said during the show.
After retiring from cricket, he founded the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in 1996 and became its national leader. When asked about his political career, Imran Khan said; ""I am not a naive politician. During my college years in Oxford also, I was well aware of the political situation in Pakistan".
Pakistan's World Cup-winning former captain Imran Khan, who is set to become the country's 19th Prime Minister, revealed his true intentions while playing against India during IndiaTV's 'Aap Ki Adalat' show.
"My role model in Pakistan is Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who was a principled person, a selfless politician. He is our idol. Jinnah joined politics in 1910 and got successful in 1947. When you chase a dream, you dont give yourself a time frame. You will invest your entire life to be successful in that", said Imran Khan on Aap Ki Adalat.
"My mother had said that you should marry a Pakistani woman because she wanted me to stay in Pakistan. She feared that if I marry in England, I will shift to England because my wife would not be able to live in Pakistan", said Imran Khan.
