Top 10 criminals should be punished soon: Yogi government's strict orders to district, police administration

According to reports, the remaining 46 districts have not been working effectively in convicting the top 10 criminals.

The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh is considered very strict regarding law and order. With a view to making this system even better and stricter, the government has decided to bring district administration and the district police to task. In this regard, Sanjay Prasad, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has written a letter addressing the District Magistrates, Police Commissioners and senior police officials. 

It has been said in this letter that the state government is working under zero tolerance policy towards crime and criminals. Along with this, getting the top-10 criminals of every district punished is also an important goal. Under this, the government has also issued orders to convict the top-10 criminals of the districts and get them punished as soon as possible. It is also being reviewed regularly.

How many criminals got punishment? 

In the letter dated from 25-03-2022 to 31-10-2023, the Principal Secretary said seven in Siddharthnagar district, six in Meerut, Kaushambi, four in Unnao, Rae Bareli, Ayodhya, Deoria three in Prayagraj, Hapur, Lucknow, Balrampur, two in Kannauj, Etwa, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Fatehpur, Moradabad, Laltipur, Jalaun, Amethi have been punished respectively. Apart from this, one criminal each was punished in Kushinagar, Ambedkarnagar, Maharajganj, Sitapur, Bijnor, Badaun, Kushinagar, Jaunpur, Basti and Etah districts.

According to reports, the remaining 46 districts have not been working effectively in convicting the top 10 criminals. Owing to this, the Principal Secretary has issued instructions to all responsible officers to take action against the top 10 criminals of their district by getting them convicted as soon as possible.
