Gangster Anil Dujana: Gangster Anil Dujana was killed in an encounter with the UP STF on Thursday in Meerut. The development has come days after gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother were shot dead by three shooters in Prayagraj.
Dujana was gunned down by a team of Special Task Force of the Uttar Pradesh Police in an encounter, police officials said.
Additional Director General of UP STF Amitabh Yash said, "Anil Dujana, a wanted criminal, was surrounded by our team in a village in Meerut on Thursday afternoon. Dujana fired at our team to escape and was killed in retaliatory firing."
The STF team that surrounded Dujana was led by Additional SP of UP STF Brijesh Singh.
The UP Police had received information that Anil Dujana might be hiding in Meerut, after which the STF carried out the operation.
Who is Anil Dujana?
Anil Dujana, a resident of Dujana village under Badalpur police station in Gautam Buddh Nagar district, was a dreaded gangster who had over 60 cases lodged against him, including murder, extortion and other crimes.
Anil Dujana had a bounty of Rs 75,000.

Anil Dujana is a resident of the same village of Gautam Buddha Nagar where the infamous dacoit Sundar Nagar was a resident. Sundar Nagar had also threatened to kill former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Anil Dujana lost his elder brother due to a gangwar. His real name is Anil Nagar.

- The first crime against Anil Dujana was registered in 2002.
- Dujana had killed a wrestler named Harbir.
- About 65 cases are registered against Anil Dujana, out of which 18 cases are of murder.
- Apart from this, several other cases have been registered against Dujana in cases related to extortion, land grabbing, looting and illegal weapons.
