Two men were killed after the car in which they were sitting outside a high rise society in Noida caught fire, the police said on Sunday (November 26). The incident took place in Sector 119 on Saturday morning. The victims were identified as Vijay Chaudhary, a resident of Sector 119, and Anash, who lived in Sector 53, both were 27 years of age, according to the police.
"CCTV footage showed that the car, a hatchback, was parked outside Amrapali Platinum Society in Sector-119 at 6.08 am. There were two men inside the car. At 6.11 am, a fire suddenly emerged in the car, leading to the death of the duo. Local police and fire police rushed to the spot and the fire was extinguished," Additional DCP (Noida) Shakti Mohan Avasthy said.
"The bodies were sent for post mortem for legal proceedings. Forensic experts have been roped in to probe the matter," Avasthy said.
The police said that their bodies were handed over to their families after post-mortem.
