A devastating collision unfolded as a school bus and a van clashed head-on in Badayun. The tragic incident resulted in the loss of five lives, including four children and the van's driver. Additionally, 15 individuals sustained severe injuries as a result of the accident. All the injured children were promptly admitted to the district hospital for medical treatment.
Local authorities and senior officers from multiple police stations have been deployed to the scene to oversee the situation. The accident has caused profound sorrow and grief within the community, as efforts are made to manage the aftermath and determine the circumstances that led to this heart-wrenching collision.
Earlier on Sunday, a heart-wrenching road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Ballia district resulted in the loss of at least four lives, with eight individuals sustaining injuries. According to local authorities, both the deceased and injured victims were residents of Sadar Chowk in the adjacent Mau district.
As detailed by Superintendent of Police (SP) S. Anand, the victims were returning after working as cooks at a wedding event in a nearby village. The tragic incident occurred when their auto-rickshaw was stationary near Chilkahar village and was struck by another vehicle. Emergency services swiftly responded to the situation, transporting the 12 individuals present in the auto-rickshaw to the district hospital. Tragically, four of them were declared deceased.
In a similarly distressing incident in Rajasthan, a head-on collision between a car and a truck in Hanumangarh district led to the loss of seven family members, while two others suffered injuries. The accident unfolded on Saturday night as the family was en route to their residence following a function.
The victims were identified as Paramjeet Kaur (60), Khushvinder Singh (25), his wife Paramjeet Kaur (22), son Manjot Singh (5), Rampal (36), his wife Reena (35), and daughter Reet (12), as reported by Station House Officer Ved Pal. The injured survivors, named Akashdeep Singh (14) and Manraj Kaur (2), were subsequently referred to a hospital in Bikaner for medical treatment. These tragic incidents highlight the importance of road safety and the need for continued efforts to prevent such devastating accidents.
