Mirzapur road accident: At least five people, including two children and a woman, were declared dead and 26 got injured in a road accident in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur today, an official said. The incident occurred this morning when a bus from Mirzapur to Matawar went out of control and overturned. A total of 35 passengers were travelling inside the bus.
This accident took place on Halia Dadri Road in the Santnagar police station area. Sixteen passengers suffered minor injuries, while ten people suffered serious injuries, District Magistrate (DM) Mirzapur Priyanka Niranjan said.
DM Priyanka Niranjan said, "In this 12 people are injured, those who sustained minor injuries are admitted to Halia CHC...Those who are severely injured are in Lalganj CHC. The information of four casualties has been received."
The injured have been sent to the district hospital for treatment, she said. Further details are awaited in this regard.
