At least four people died after a part of the roof in a house collapsed in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr on Wednesday. The dead people were sleeping on the lower floor of the house when the indicent took place. The upper floor had gone through roof work simply the day before the mishap. Police and emergency services were dispatched to the scene, where the rescuers attempted to recuperate the bodies of the victims.
As per reports, the second floor of the house's lintel fell on Tuesday and caught the thirteen individuals from a single family.
Multiple teams were sent to clear the trash and recover the bodies. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has announced ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh each to the family of the deceased.
The rescue operation is currently underway, and the police and fire departments are working together to free the trapped workers. The reason behind the collapse of the roof isn't known up to this point.
Earlier, a six-year-old boy was killed after a wall collapsed on him in a Noida village on Tuesday (July 16), police said. Three other men, aged around 22 years, were also injured in the incident that took place in Wajidpur village in the Sector 63 police station area, they said.
"Around 7.30 am, police got information about a wall collapse incident in Wajidpur village. The wall was in a dilapidated condition and fell towards the side of a lane, burying three men and a child under the debris," a police spokesperson said.
"All four people were admitted to a nearby private hospital in an injured condition, where the child succumbed to the injuries," the official said.
Police said the three men- Ravindra, Suraj and Mukesh- are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
