Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth arrived in Uttar Pradesh's Varanasi after the conclusion of a successful G20 Summit under India's presidency the day before.
He arrived at the Lal Bahadur Shastri airport on Monday morning. Jugnauth will visit and perform a 'puja' at the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple and will later participate in the iconic ritual of Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat.
Mauritius PM at G20
Upon his arrival in New Delhi for the highly-anticipated G20 Summit on Thursday, Jugnauth held a meeting with External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar where both sides reaffirmed their their commitment to take forward the "truly special partnership" between India and Mauritius.
He then held bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi where they discussed cooperation in infrastructure, Fintech, culture and other themes. PM Modi had reiterated India's commitment to furthering the voice of the Global South.
Jugnauth also congratulated PM Modi on the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission and looked forward to further cooperation between the two sides in the space sector and thanked him for the special invitation extended to Mauritius to participate in the G20 format as a ‘Guest Country’.
The two leaders expressed satisfaction that the G20 events coincided with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between India and Mauritius.
