Watch drone visuals: Cars submerged in Greater Noida's Ecotech 3 due to rise in Hindon water level

All schools in Noida and Greater Noida have been closed today amid heavy rain and thunder lashing out the city since morning, causing waterlogging and traffic congestion issues.

Uttar Pradesh: A latest video of drone visuals has emerged showing several vehicles near Ecotech II in Uttar Pradesh's Greater Noida were submerged as water overflowed from the Hindon river, amid rains.

The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration on Sunday issued a flood warning for low-lying regions along the Hindon as water discharge in the river increased. Around 200 people from five villages have been evacuated and shifted to shelter homes after the alert was raised. 

Meanwhile, all schools in Noida and Greater Noida will remain closed today amid heavy rain and thunder lashing out the city since morning, causing waterlogging and traffic congestion issues.

Manish Kumar Verma, District Magistrate, Gautam Budh Nagar has ordered all schools upto class 12 to remain closed on Wednesday. The parents were informed through WhatsApp messages about the holiday. Schools that were opened today are asked to shut all functions due to heavy rainfall.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert in Delhi for today, July 26. Thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity will occur at isolated places and adjoining areas of Delhi, NCR and other places during the initial hours, IMD said. 

Meanwhile, on Monday, the bodies of two boys who went missing after slipping into the deep waters of the Hindon River were pulled out. A National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team, after a marathon rescue operation, pulled the two bodies out, Deputy Commissioner of Police (City) Nipun Agarwal said.
