Uttar Pradesh: Heavy rains are expected to lash parts of Uttar Pradesh. Amid the changing weather across the state, a red alert has been issued for Lucknow and its neighbouring districts. Earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had issued a high alert for several cities and districts saying that thunderstorm is likely to be accompanied by heavy rainfall.
IMD on August 1 had stated that the weather will remain bad on August 1 and 2. With this, there are chances of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and hailstorms.
Orange alert in east and west UP
The weather department on Wednesday has issued an orange alert for west Uttar Pradesh. According to IMD, the west region of the state is expected to get heavy to very heavy rainfall (115.6 to 204.4 mm) on August 2 and 3. In addition to this, an orange alert has also been issued for east Uttar Pradesh. This region is likely to get heavy and very heavy rainfall on August 4, 5 and 6.
