Amid the alleged irregularities surrounding competitive exams like NEET-UG and NET, the Uttar Pradesh government will make new policies to ensure that recruitment exams in the state are conducted in a free and fair manner. According to sources in the state government, there would be four agencies that would be given the responsibilities for conducting the recruitment examination.

Additionally, the candidates will have to go outside their home board (Grih mandal) to appear for the exam. However, this restriction will not apply to disabled people and women. The sources also informed that if an exam will have more than four lakh candidates, then the examination will be conducted in two phases.

Setting up exam centres

To prevent rigging in results, scanning of Optical mark recognition (OMR) sheets will be done in the Commission and the Board itself. The decision has also been taken regarding the setting up of examination centres. Two categories have been created to set up examination centres.

The first category includes Government Inter Colleges, Medical Colleges and Engineering Colleges. In the second category, aided schools have been placed. The sources also informed that the examination centres will not be made in schools and colleges without finance.

Paper leak in UP Police Recruitment examination

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said that the government has decided to cancel the police constable recruitment examination held statewide on February 17 and 18 after the examination paper was allegedly leaked.

The paper leak also led the Uttar Pradesh government to sack Renuka Mishra, Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment Board Chairperson. Rajeev Krishna had been given additional charge as Recruitment Board Chairperson.

The Uttar Pradesh government had also issued an order to investigate the alleged irregularities and rigging in the examination of the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (RO/ARO), not in the paper but at the government level.
