The horrifying incident occurred in Mardah town of Ghazipur, where the bus was en route to Mahahar town before the fire erupted.

The accident occurred as members of a marriage party from Mau were en route to Mahahar temple in the Mardah police station area. SHO Dharmendra Kumar Pandey revealed that the bus, carrying the wedding attendees, made contact with an overhead high-voltage wire, igniting a fire that engulfed the vehicle.

Additionally, he directed authorities to ensure free medical treatment for all injured persons.
"The loss of lives in an accident in Ghazipur district is extremely sad and heart wrenching. My condolences are with the bereaved families. I pray to God to grant peace to the departed souls and speedy recovery to the injured," Adityanath said.
