After a video of the college students performing stunts on a car in the streets of Rajnagar Extension went viral on social media, the Ghaziabad police detained four of the students.
The police were able to identify the students and proceed with legal action after ascertaining CCTV footage. The Maruti Brezza vehicle that was used in the stunt has also been seized by police officers.
In the viral footage, the four students were seen driving quickly and causing a stir by hanging from the windows.
Loud music was playing as the car made its way around the urban jungle. The police swung into action when the video went viral on social media.Police used surveillance data to identify the students after reviewing the video from more than twenty CCTV cameras.
"On May 8, a video of Rajnagar Extension went viral in which four people were seen creating a ruckus and doing stunts on a road. The police have arrested the accused and seized the car involved in it," said ACP Nandgram Ravi Kumar Singh.
Kaushar Rahman, Krishna Ankan, Tushar Singh, and Ashutosh are the arrested suspects.
Earlier in April, a video of a group of men has gone viral where they can be seen performing dangerous stunts on the road while carrying weapons in Uttar Pradesh's Noida. In this video, about a dozen youths were seen performing stunts on the road. They had weapons in their hands and were seen creating a ruckus.
Although these weapons are real or fake, no concrete information has been received yet. Despite repeated instruction by the police, people are not deterred from making such reels, as it puts their own lives as well as others at risk.
Taking cognizance of the viral video, on the instructions of DCP Traffic, the traffic police have challenged the youths with an e-challan of Rs 25,500. The vehicle has been identified. Soon arrests will be made by registering charges under relevant sections. This information has been given by the media cell of Gautam Buddha Nagar Police.
