A man accused in the murder case of Vinay Tyagi, business head of Tata Steel Pravesh Almira, was killed in a gunfight with the police in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad on Friday (May 10) morning, the police said. The slain accused was identified as Daksh who hailed from Delhi’s Seelampur. He was killed in the Sahibabad area of the city in the encounter in which a sub-inspector was also injured. The development comes days after Tyagi was murdered on May 3 night in the Shalimar Garden police station area allegedly by Daksh and his accomplices after robbery.
Details of the encounter
The encounter took place at around 5 am on Friday when two bike-ridden miscreants were in the Sahibabad police station area. The accused was injured in the gunfight after which he was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. A mobile phone was recovered from his possession.
Tyagi’s murder
Vinay Tyagi (42), resident of Rajendra Nagar Sector-5, Ghaziabad, was working as a sales head in Tata Steel Company. He usually reached his home by 10 pm, however, on the night of May 3, Vinay Tyagi did not reach home. Upon enquiry by the family at the office, they were informed that he had left for home by metro after office.
His body was found on May 4 morning near a ruined house behind the grounds of Khaitan Public School. The family had expressed suspicion of murder after robbery.
