In a heart-wrenching incident that transpired in Meerut's Lohia Nagar, at least four individuals lost their lives while three others sustained severe injuries following an explosion that occurred on a Tuesday morning. The explosion site is situated in close proximity to Satyapal International School, within the jurisdiction of the Lohianagar police station.

Reports suggest that the affected premises housed a soap factory, primarily engaged in the wrapping and packaging of soap products, and the factory belongs to a certain Gaurav Gupta.

As per the District Magistrate, Deepak Meena, a search operation is currently underway to ensure there are no individuals trapped beneath the debris caused by the explosion. He stated, "Five individuals were injured during the incident, and they have been promptly transported to the medical college for necessary medical care. The ongoing search operation aims to meticulously examine the area to verify that no one remains trapped beneath the debris. While it is established that soap wrapping and packaging activities were conducted within the premises, the precise cause of the explosion remains unknown at this juncture."

The injured individuals have been swiftly admitted to the emergency section for immediate medical attention. Fire brigade personnel have been actively involved in providing relief and conducting rescue operations at the accident site.

This devastating incident has sent shockwaves through the community and serves as a stark reminder of the significance of adhering to safety protocols within industrial establishments. The exact cause of the explosion is under investigation, and authorities will work diligently to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
