In a harrowing incident on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway in Uttar Pradesh, a double-decker chartered bus bound for Bihar caught fire, creating panic among the approximately 70 passengers on board. The bus, en route from Delhi to Bihar's Siwan, witnessed a sudden and intense blaze, prompting passengers to jump to safety through bus windows. The passengers, fortunately, managed to escape unharmed. The incident occurred as the bus reached the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
The bus, carrying passengers from Delhi's Anand Vihar to Bihar's Siwan, was quickly engulfed in flames after reaching the expressway. Fire Brigade was alerted promptly, and three fire brigade vehicles rushed to the scene to control the fire. Despite their efforts, the fire consumed the entire bus before it could be brought under control.
The passengers incurred minor injuries while escaping the bus, but there were no reported casualties. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and an investigation into the incident is underway. Authorities are also examining the fitness and condition of the bus to ascertain if any mechanical failure contributed to the incident.
