A couple was charred to death after their car caught fire due to a collision with a tree in Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi, the police said on Saturday (May 25). The police said that the incident occurred on Friday near the Baghrai village on the Hardoi-Sandi road in the district. The man was identified as Akash Pal, 23, and the wife as Kirti, 20. Both had reached Sandi for some work, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Hardoi East Nripendra said.
Their car collided with a tree on the roadside near Baghrai village and caught fire, the ASP said, adding that the couple was burnt alive inside the vehicle.
The police are investigating the incident, he added.
Woman dies in hotel fire in another incident
In another incident that occurred on May 19, a 27-year-old woman died while another man was battling for life after they got trapped in the fire that broke out at a hotel in Noida’s Sector 104 area, the fire department said on Sunday.
According to officials, on Saturday (May 18), the fire broke out on the fourth floor of the Moon Hotel in the village of Hajipur, Sector 104, Noida, and after receiving the information, a team from the Sector 39 police station rushed to the spot.
