Ayodhya: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday (October 22) flagged off 51 buses of the state transport corporation which will be driven by women and have female conductors.
Yogi, on the second day of his Ayodhya visit, inaugurated the ‘Mission Mahila Sarathi’ from Ram Katha Park and said that society must respect women and protest their dignity for its all-round development.
According to the officials, the 51 buses of the Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation will have women drivers and conductors.
Yogi said that all those who said that the women cannot do certain jobs have been proven wrong by the transport department.
“Now there are women drivers and conductors also,” he said.
Employment opportunities
“Till now, more than 1.5 lakh daughters have been provided employment in Uttar Pradesh Police and other departments of the government. This is now being taken forward by the transport corporation through the employment of women drivers and conductors in buses,” the Chief Minister added.
Emphasising on the protection of dignity of women, the Chief Minister said that the society will be strong and achieve new heights of all-round development if its women are respected.
The CM also offered prayers at the Chhoti Devkali temple in Ayodhya and met Mahant Nritya Gopal Das to inquire about his well-being.
