Uttar Pradesh: CM Yogi Adityanath extends greetings on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha festival

Earlier, CM Yogi Adityanath held a meeting on June 14 and issued directives to the officials to take special measures as multiple festivals are to be celebrated within a few days including Bakrid, Ganga Dussehra, the holy Tuesday of Jyeshtha month, and International Yoga Day.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. In a message to the public, he said that Eid ul Azha is the festival inspires everyone to coexist with social harmony,

Eid al Adha also known as Bakrid is to be observed on two days including, today and tomorrow (June 17). Considering the celebrations of Ganga Dussehra along with Bakrid, precautions have been taken by the administration across Uttar Pradesh.

Yogi directs officials regarding preparations

Earlier on June 14, CM Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with officials regarding strong law and order and facilities for devotees in view of the upcoming festivals. The CM reviewed the preparations being made for the festivals. During this, CM Yogi gave the necessary guidelines to the officials. CM Yogi said that Ganga Dussehra is on June 16, Bakrid is on June 17, the Mangal festival of Jyeshtha month on June 18, and International Yoga Day is on June 21. Holy programs like Moharram and Kanwar Yatra are to be held in the month of July. Naturally, this time is very sensitive from the point of view of law and order. The government and administration need to be in active mode 24 hours a day.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi had said that the place for sacrifice on Bakrid should be decided in advance. Apart from this, sacrifice should not be done anywhere else. Sacrifice should not be done at disputed/sensitive places. In any case, ensure that banned animals are not sacrificed anywhere. He said that Namaz should be done at a fixed place as per tradition. Namaz should not be done on the roads. Respect the faith, but do not encourage any new tradition. Yogi said that every festival should be celebrated in peace and harmony, for this all necessary efforts should be made keeping in view the local needs.
