Uttar Pradesh road accident: At least 12 people died and nine got severely injured after a truck turned turtle on top of a bus in the Khutar Police Station area of Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur.
Ashok Kumar Meena, SP, Shahjahanpur said, " Around 11:00 pm, we got the information that in the Khutar PS area, a bus was parked, devotees who were going to Purnagiri were sitting inside the bus and some devotees were having food at a Dhaba. A truck lost control and turned turtle on top of the bus in which total 11 people died and 10 were injured. All injured have been admitted to hospital".
Superintendent of Police (SP) Ashok Kumar Meena told the media that the incident happened on Saturday night at Hajiyapur under the Khutar police station when the bus had halted at a roadside restaurant on its way to the temple.
As the devotees from Sitapur waited inside the bus, a dumper truck carrying gravel lost control and overturned on the vehicle, he said.
