Two miscreants were shot in their legs while they tried to flee from the police custody after they were arrested for allegedly pulling her 'dupatta' while on a bicycle, leading to her death in Uttar Pradesh's Ambedkarnagar, the police said on Sunday (September 17).
Three accused were arrested in connection with the incident, who were identified as Arbaaz, Faisal and Shahbaz. The accused were trying to escape by snatching the police rifle.
On September 15, a class 11 student was pulled by miscreants by her 'dupatta' while she was returning home. Due to loss of balance, the student fell in the middle of the road along with the bicycle, in which the bike coming from behind crushed the student. The student died in this incident.
What action did the police take?
The police had arrested three accused after the complaint of the student's family. The police were taking the arrested miscreants for medical treatment. Near Baskhari, the accused people stopped the vehicle to urinate and then snatched a policeman's rifle and attempted to flee. The police opened fire on two miscreants, in which the bullet hit them in the leg.
The third accused's leg was fractured while running. The accused were taken to the hospital for immediate treatment. Police station incharge Hanswar Ritesh Pandey has been suspended due to negligence in this matter.
