Uttar Pradesh is fast-growing economy, says President Droupadi Murmu at UP International Trade Show

Uttar Pradesh is the fast-growing economy in the country, said President Droupadi Murmu as she inaugurated the first UP International Trade Show at India Expo Center and Mart in Greater Noida.

Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show: President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday said that Uttar Pradesh is a fast-growing economy in the country. She made the statement while addressing the first Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show at India Expo Center and Mart in Greater Noida.

Speaking at the occasion, Droupadi Murmu said, "India fifth largest economy in world and will soon be third, Uttar Pradesh has a major contribution to it."

"Investment opportunities have been created, infrastructure improved in Uttar Pradesh," the President said as she inaugurated the trade show.

During the inauguration, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said, "This is the first international trade show of Uttar Pradesh... under the leadership of PM Modi, in the past 6 years, from a sick state UP has emerged as a prosperous state, it is a big inspiration for all of us. The international trade show is an opportunity to showcase it. The potential of UP can be felt from this..."

"This new UP has good connectivity, in the form of highway, express highway, waterways and airways. This is new India's new Uttar Pradesh, it has identified its potential", said the Chief Minister.

Earlier today, CM Yogi Adityanath inspected the exhibition at India Expo Centre & Mart.

Meanwhile, security has been stepped up across the Gautam Buddh Nagar district, adjoining Delhi, with the deployment of around 8,000 police personnel and a dozen companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary and the paramilitary forces. Around 1,300 police personnel are deployed on traffic-related duty for the five-day show, they said.

"Over 2,000 exhibitors will display their products at the show to "showcase prosperous Uttar Pradesh to the world".

Guests, entrepreneurs and exporters from various countries will participate in the programme where over two lakh visitors are expected. Entry for the general public is free from 3 pm to 8 pm.

"We are working rapidly towards making Uttar Pradesh a USD 1 trillion economy. This programme is certainly going to be a key milestone in this direction," UP Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta said during a preparation review at India Expo Centre and Mart.
