In a pre-Diwali gift to state employees, the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has announced significant financial incentives. The state government will provide a dearness allowance at a rate of 46% of the basic salary to state employees and pensioners.
CM Yogi Adityanath shared this information on Twitter, stating, "All state employees, aided educational and technical institutions, municipal corporations, UGC employees, departmental officers, and pensioners contributing to Uttar Pradesh will receive a dearness allowance of 46% of the basic salary."
Additionally, it has been decided that all state government employees (non-gazetted), departmental officers, teachers, non-teaching employees, and daily wage earners will be granted a bonus equivalent to 30 days' salary, with a maximum limit of ₹7,000.
It's worth noting that previously, the Yogi government had increased the dearness allowance for state employees on May 15. Now, ahead of Diwali, state employees are receiving more good news, with the promise of increased dearness allowance from January 1, 2023, at a rate of 42% of the basic salary, benefiting around 12 lakh teachers and employees and 7 lakh pensioners. This enhanced dearness allowance will be effective July 1, following Cabinet approval.
