Rs 150 crore proposed for marriage grant scheme for daughters of other backward classes

An innovative program "The Million Farmers School" is being organized in the entire state to train the farmers with the latest techniques of agriculture. It is proposed to organize 17,000 Kisan Pathshalas in the year 2023-2024

At present, about 48,277 buildings are being constructed in 76 projects under the AHP component of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). Of these, 22,718 buildings have been completed, while the remaining buildings are targeted to be completed by March, 2023

According to the recommendation of the 15th Finance Commission for sub-health centers and primary health centers, an expenditure of approximately ₹407 crores will be made in the financial year 2023-2024

Under the 'Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana', operated to develop positive thinking of common people towards girls, per beneficiary ₹ is being benefitted with an amount of up to 15,000. A provision of ₹ 1050 crores is proposed for the financial year 2023-2024

A provision of ₹ 12,631 crore is proposed for the operation of various programs under the National Rural Health Mission and ₹ 1,655 crore for the Pradhan Mantri Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana: Finance Minister

The unemployment rate has reduced to 4.2 per cent which was around 14.4 per cent before 2017, said Finance Minister Suresh Khanna. 

"I hope UP CM and Finance minister will take steps to make UP a $1 Trillion economy. In the last 6 budgets of this govt, no steps were taken for the welfare of farmers and youth and unemployment also remained unaddressed," said Akhilesh Yadav. 

Organised crime has been eradicated from UP in last few years. The state has only moved towards development. Today, our second Budget will be presented. Our focus is on infrastructure sector & our goal is to achieve $1 trillion economy.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said the state budget will exceed the expectations of people. The budget will be presented on Wednesday.

"There is a double-engine government of the BJP with Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji at the Centre, and Yogi Adityanath ji in the state. The UP budget will be better than the expectation of the people. And the way the opposition parties were left puzzled after the Union Budget, the same thing will happen after the state budget is presented," Maurya told media.

He said the opposition termed the Union budget an election budget as they do not know about the "farsightedness of Prime Minister Narendra Modi". "If he decides a target, he does not sit quietly until he achieves it."

The budget is likely to focus on Uttar Pradesh government's consultant Deloitte's first report on taking the state to one trillion-dollar economy target. The current fiscal size of the economy is estimated to be around Rs 20.48 lakh crore.

Going by the current value of rupee against dollar, for making Uttar Pradesh a one trillion-dollar economy, the size of its economy should be nearly more than Rs 80 lakh crore.

Focus areas of Budget:

The budget is likely to give further push to infrastructure development, IT, health and education sectors. It would also have much to cheer about for women, youth and the poor. With the Global Investors Summit (GIS) receiving investment pledges worth Rs 33.5 lakh crore, the budget would have to focus on developing infrastructure in districts, other than the NCR region, in a bid to get investment proposals in these areas converted to reality on ground.

This will be the largest budget to be tabled by the Uttar Pradesh government. State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna said that the focus is likely to be on infrastructure development, health sector and education.

According to sources, the budget size is likely to increase by around 8-10 per cent and it is expected to be around Rs 7 lakh crore. This would be over Rs 50,000 crore more as compared to previous budget size which stood around Rs 6.48 lakh crore, including Rs 33,000 crore raised through supplementary demands.
