Umesh Pal murder case: Atiq Ahmed's wife applies for bail; Police reaches Nepal in search of son

Umesh Pal murder case: Investigating agencies have so far raided Uttar Pradesh as well as Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Telangana and Uttarakhand.

In the most recent developement in the Umesh pal murder case, Shaista Parveen, wife of main accused  Atiq Ahmed has filed for anticipatory bail in the Allahabad High Court on Monday. 

Parveen's application is expected to be heard after a week. according to reports, she declared herself innocent in the application and further stated that both she and her family have been implicated for political reasons. 

Earlier, the Prayagraj Police has declared a reward of RS 25000 on Shaista Parveen who has been absconding since the shootout.

Police reaches Nepal in search of Atiq Ahmed's son

According to sources, two police teams have been camping in Nepal for the last two days with one team in Kathmandu while the other searching for Assad in Pokhara and nearby places. Asad is suspected to be hiding in Nepal after the Rs 2.5 lakh reward incident. 

The investigating agencies have so far raided Uttar Pradesh as well as Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Telangana and Uttarakhand while mobile phones of close relatives and acquaintances have been put on surveillance. However, despite monitoring more than 100 numbers, Asad could not be traced as he has not contacted anyone.

According to sources, even the two police teams that went to Nepal have not received any information about Asad. Investigation agencies are now preparing to search for Assad in another country Bhutan as well Apart from Nepal, Bhutan is also a country that can be visited without a passport.

According to police information, Assad's does not own a passport. In such a situation, he cannot go to any other country except Nepal or Bhutan. The UP police has also announced a reward of Rs 2.5 lakh on Asad.

Sadaqat's judicial custody to end today

The judicial custody remand of Sadaqat, the only accused arrested so far in the Prayagraj-Umesh Pal shootout case, will end today. Sadaqat's judicial custody case will be heard again in the Chief Judicial Magistrate court today.  Currently, he is lodged in Prayagraj's Naini Central Jail.
