Umesh Pal murder case: In a shocking new revelation in the murder case of lawyer Umesh Pal and his two police guards on February 24, it has come to the fore that gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmad had given code names to his kin and other assailants, who were involved in the killing of Umesh Pal, to communicate with each other in a bid to avoid detection before the crime was committed.
Atiq Ahmed had distributed the codes to his brother Ashraf, son Asad and all those involved in the murder case. These people used to talk to each other through these code words. All these accused used to talk on FaceTime by creating the IDs from code names given to them.
Code names of accused?
BADE-006- This was the FaceTime ID and code name of Atik Ahmed.
CHOTE-007- This code name belonged to Ashraf.
Ansh_yadav00- This code name belonged to Atiq’s son Asad.
Thakur008- This code name was of Guddu Muslim. This is the same Guddu Muslim who hurl bombs instead of using guns, to kill people. Guddu Muslim used is currently absconding and the police are looking for him.
XYZZ1122- This code name belonged to the accused Niyaz who did the recce of Umesh Pal.
Bihar Tower- This code name belonged to shooter Armaan.
Advo010- This code name belonged to Atiq’s so-called lawyer Khan Soulat Hanif.
Patle- 009- This code name belonged to Atiq's jailed son Ali. Following the revelation of code names, it is clear that Ali was also in contact with the other accused during the murder of Umesh Pal.
Accused used iPhone for FaceTime
All the accused were continuously talking to each other before and after the murder. They were using iPhone to FaceTime with each other. They used the same code names given to them by Atiq to generate their FaceTime IDs. Auto driver Niyaz, who lives in the neighbourhood of Umesh Pal, was given the responsibility of reiki, so he was also given an iPhone. Umesh's neighbour Niyaz had informed all the shooters about Umesh Pal, after which the murder was carried out.
Umesh Pal murder case
Umesh Pal, a key witness in the 2005 murder case of BSP MLA Raju Pal, and his two police security guards were shot dead outside his home in Prayagraj's Dhoomanganj area on February 24 this year. On February 25, the police registered a case against Ahmad, his brother Ashraf, wife Shaista Parveen, two sons, aides Guddu Muslim and Ghulam, and nine other accomplices at Dhoomanganj police station.
A special court here on March 28 convicted Ahmad, Hanif and Dinesh Pasi and sentenced them to life in prison in the 17-year-old kidnapping case. Hanif and Pasi were detained in Naini Central Prison while Ahmad was sent to Sabarmati Central Jail in Gujarat's Ahmedabad.
10 people were named in Umesh Pal murder case
Ten people were named in the FIR registered at the Dhoomanganj Police Station of Prayagraj on February 25, a day after Umesh Pal was killed. Atiq Ahmad's son Asad was also named as a shooter alongside six others described as shooters. Asad along with his accomplice were killed in encounter on Thursday. Apart from Ahmad and Ashraf, four others named in the FIR -- Asad, Arbaaz, Vijay Chaudhary alias Usman, and Ghulam -- have also been killed. Atiq's wife Shaista Parveen and three other alleged shooters are absconding.
