Uttar Pradesh: Packed with ambition, drama, infidelity, death threats and much more, a spat between SDM Jyoti Maurya and her husband Alok Maurya has come out in public domain once again as relations between the couple went sour after the former had become a PCS officer.
In a new development to the case, SDM Jyoti Maurya's husband Alok Maurya, who is a class IV employee, has said that he is ready to compromise for the sake of his children.
Alok said that he loves his daughters very much and is ready to compromise with his wife Jyoti Maurya for them.
The rift between the couple has often surfaced on social media.
Let me meet my daughters, appeals Alok Maurya
Seeking permission to meet his daughters, Alok Maurya said, "Daughters should be allowed to meet me, I should be allowed to meet my daughters... you can understand the pain of a father.. I am ready to compromise for my daughters...".
The couple's case was had come up for hearing in Prayagraj family court but Jyoti did not appear.
Jyoti and Alok married in 2010
Alok Maurya and Jyoti got married in the 2010. After a few years of marriage, in 2015, Jyoti Maurya was selected for the post of SDM through UPPSC. According to Alok Maurya, after becoming a PCS officer, there was a rift in their relationship.
In many of his videos, Alok had accused his wife Jyoti of having a relationship with Home Guard Commandant Manish Dubey. Amidst all this, SDM Jyoti Maurya filed an application in the family court for separation from husband Alok.
In a viral video, Alok Maurya was seen sobbing uncontrollably because his wife Jyoti Maurya, who became a Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM), left him.
The next hearing in the case will be on August 18.
A flashback of the case
Alok, a Class-four employee in the state government, reportedly encouraged his wife Jyoti to continue her education after marriage in 2010 and supported and funded her studies till she cleared the civil services examination.
Jyoti Maurya, a mother of twin girls, now accuses her husband of being deceitful.
“Alok introduced himself as a Gram Panchayat officer before their marriage when he was actually working as a ‘sweeper’,” she said.
Jyoti has filed for divorce from her husband. She has also accused him of hacking her phone and planting false evidence of her infidelity.
Alok, on the other hand, accuses Jyoti of having a relationship with Manish Dubey, her home guard commandant.
Jyoti made it clear in the interview that it is her personal matter. She questioned, “What do you want to see by entering the houses? Why is there an interest in how the husband and wife live? When the relationship deteriorated, the matter went to court.”
Alok accuses Jyoti of corruption as well as having an illicit relationship. He further accused her and Dubey of plotting to murder him.
With social media taking an avid interest in the controversy, the issue has snowballed from being a mere domestic dispute to one with huge social ramifications.
“After what Jyoti has done to me, which man will now encourage his wife to study and achieve greater heights?” Alok asked.
While many draw a parallel to the story with the 1999 film Sooryavansham, other simply slam Jyoti for this love story gone awry.
With new facts and allegations tumbling out every day, the end to this mudslinging match is far from over.
