Samajwadi Party National President Akhilesh Yadav has resigned from his membership of the Karhal Assembly. The resignation letter has been submitted to the Assembly office. As the Speaker is currently not in Lucknow, the resignation copy was received on his behalf.
Akhilesh Yadav pays tribute to Mulayam Singh Yadav
On Monday, Samajwadi Party (SP) National President Akhilesh Yadav paid tribute to the late Mulayam Singh Yadav at his samadhi in Saifai, the ancestral village of the Yadav family. Akhilesh dedicated his victory in Kannauj and the party's unprecedented win of 37 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh to Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Akhilesh criticises Modi's new cabinet
On Tuesday, Akhilesh Yadav criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's latest cabinet, describing it as no different from previous ones except for the date and year. "There is nothing new except for the date and the year," he told reporters in Saifai, Etawah district, referring to the Modi 3.0 government.
Commitment to socialist ideals
The SP chief emphasised that his party continues to uphold the ideas and thoughts of socialist leaders Ram Manohar Lohia, B.R. Ambedkar, and Mulayam Singh Yadav, who is fondly referred to as "Netaji."
He assured that SP MPs would raise issues affecting the masses in Parliament during the next session. Akhilesh thanked party workers, attributing the SP's rise to becoming the third-largest party in the country to their efforts.
Coalition success
"The 2024 poll is a victory of what matters to the people," Akhilesh stated. He highlighted the success of the INDIA bloc, an alliance formed with the Congress to challenge the BJP.
