Uttar Pradesh: Railways has announced the renaming of three stations in the Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh. These stations include Pratapgarh Junction, Antu station and Vishwanathganj station.
According to the Northern Railway notification, Pratapgarh Junction has been renamed as Belha Devi Dham, Antu station as Maa Chandrika Devi Dham and Vishwanathganj station will now be known as Shanidev Dham Vishwanath.
The development has come after Pratapgarh MP Sangam Lal Gupta had sent a proposal to the Centre seeking renaming of three stations in the state.
The Union Ministry approved the renaming of these stations in July and now an official notification has been issued by the Northern Railway.
Earlier this year, the Jhansi railway station in Uttar Pradesh was renamed to Veerangana Lakshmibai Railway Station.
