UP International Trade Show: Noida Police issues traffic advisory for five days, check routes to avoid

In view of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show and MotoGP race, the Noida Police has issued detailed traffic guidelines for commuters from September 21 to 25.

Noida Traffic Police on Thursday issued an advisory in view of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show and MotoGP race. The advisory stated that entry of heavy, medium and light goods vehicles from Delhi to Gautam Buddha Nagar will be restricted from 6 am on Thursday, September 21 to 25. The vehicular movement in Gautam Buddha Nagar will also be controlled, it added. 

The traffic police has advised people travelling to Noida or Greater Noida to use the metro. DCP Traffic Anil Kumar Yadav said that people should use Noida and Delhi Metro more to avoid congestion. He also advised people to avoid using Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway for the next five days. "During this period, parking of autos or e-rickshaws in any public place will be prohibited. Also, if the passengers come by vehicle via these routes, they can see the traffic-related information on Google Map or MapMyIndia," he added. 

Check routes to take or avoid

  • Non-commercial vehicles going from Delhi, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Hapur to Mathura and Lucknow should use National Highway 9, 24 and 91.
  • Non-commercial vehicles coming from Delhi and going to Lucknow via the Noida-Greno Expressway can use the internal roads of Delhi, such as NH 9, 24 and 91.
  • Non-commercial vehicles going from Noida towards Delhi, Ghaziabad should reach New Ashok Nagar via MP One, Two, MP 3 and DSC routes. From here one can go to Chhijarasi via Jhundpura, NIB and Model Town.
  • While coming from Lucknow, Agra, Mathura, non-commercial vehicles going towards Delhi via Yamuna and Noida-Greater Noida Expressway can take the direct route from Aligarh, Tappal to Bulandshahr or Mathura to Delhi.
  • To go towards Delhi, Ghaziabad, Meerut from Greater Noida West, non-commercial vehicles will have to go from Kisan Chowk to Parthala roundabout or Tigri. Here one will be able to go to NH 24 via Chijarsi.
  • Non-commercial vehicles going to Delhi and Ghaziabad from Greno Express will be able to go to Shahberi, Chhijarasi and Parthala using the routes of Greater Noida West.
  • Non-commercial vehicles going to Delhi from the Phase 2 area should reach New Ashok Nagar via DSC Road. From here one can go to Parthala, Chhijarasi and Model Town via Jhundpura.
  • Movement of light, medium and heavy goods vehicles and passenger buses will be restricted from Delhi border to Chilla, Kalindi Kunj, DND, Kondli, Jhundpura, New Ashok Nagar, Pari Chowk, Knowledge Park, Noida-Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway in Gautam Buddha Nagar district. 
  • The timing of the Noida-Greno Metro has also been changed. From September 21 to September 25, the metro will operate from 8 am to 10 pm. Each metro will run at an interval of 7.5 minutes. Apart from the morning and evening peak hours, the metro will run at an interval of 10 minutes.

Noida Metro to increase train frequency

It should be noted here that the Noida Metro Rail Corporation will increase the frequency of trains on the Aqua Line during the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show from September 21 to 25. The first edition of the UP ITS will be held at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida. Entry for the general public is free from 3 pm to 8 pm, Rakesh Kumar, chairman of India Expo Centre and Mart said.

NMRC Managing Director Lokesh M said the visitors can reach the exhibition through the nearest metro station Knowledge Park. He said parking facility is also available at eight Aqua Line metro stations -- Sector 51, Sector 76, NSEZ, Sector 142, Sector 137, Pari Chowk, Alpha 1 and Delta 1. The Uttar Pradesh Police have estimated over two lakh visitors, including foreigners, during the International Trade Show.
